Many brides are juggling everything at once, all the way through.
I see brides excited to get started; then disheartened as the big ideas that seemed so simple get harder and harder to bring together.
I see brides overwhelmed from the get-go; and never really clear or confident that they’re ‘doing things right’.
Understanding what phase you are in will help you keep a clear head and the fires of your enthusiasm burning. It will give you the sense of control you crave.
Here are three things everyone can takeaway now:
Phase 1 | Tentative Plans
Every decision will come back to how you want your wedding to feel. It may sound simple but trust me - it goes a long way to narrow down your choices and give you confidence in your decision-making.
Phase 2 | Bookings + Budget
Figure out your priorities before you book any suppliers. As costs add up so does the stress and frustration as you try to manage everything you wanted (or thought you needed) within your budget. This is especially true with underestimating the cost of styling. So much so I’ve included another example of a real wedding styling budget for you here >
Phase 3 | Organisation
Bite the bullet on your decision making now if you haven’t yet. If you put it off for too long you’ll leave very little room at the end. There are many last minute things that will require your attention: finalising menu; seating plan; dress alterations; contacting suppliers and figuring out who is helping with what on the day.
